Gathering Voices hosts a series of annual conferences.
Before 2017, conferences were organised by the
Evangelical Fellowship for Lesbian and Gay Christians (EFLGC).
The 2017 conference was a first collaboration between EFLGC and other organisations including Accepting Evangelicals, Affirm, Sibyls, Stonewall and Two:23 Network.
Our aim is to help churches to become more inclusive – as Oasis Foundation Open Church Charter says:
“any person regardless of sexuality or gender identity will find our local church to be a place of welcome, embrace, inclusion, affirmation and sanctuary.”
2020 – Seeing more queerly
Our conference will be an online live event on October 17th – more information to follow.
2019 – Extending the table
Our 2019 day conference was held in October 2019 at De Montfort University, Leicester.
2018 – From Welcome to Affirmation
Our 2018 day Conference was held in October 2018 at Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent.
The first conference under the name “Gathering Voices” was held in Cross Street Chapel, Manchester in October 2017.
2016 – Finding A Voice
The EFLGC Autumn 2016 conference was the inspiration for the Gathering Voices series. It was held in Holland House, Pershore, Worcester in October 2016.
